Hi, I’m Megan. I help children, teens, and families who feel like life changed after something hard.
When a child has been through something overwhelming, parents are often left trying to understand what changed and how to help. Maybe your child seems more anxious, angry, shut down, clingy, or reactive than they used to be. Maybe they are having meltdowns, behavior changes, trouble sleeping, difficulty trusting others, or a hard time talking about what they are feeling. You may feel like you are walking on eggshells, second-guessing yourself, or wondering how to support them without making things worse.
My goal is to help children and teens feel safe, understood, and supported as they work through trauma, anxiety, grief, and overwhelming emotions. I also want parents to feel less alone in the process and more confident in how to help their child heal.
$85 per 50-minute session

My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I tailor therapy to each child or teen based on their age, personality, and needs. Some kids need space to build trust before opening up. Some need help understanding their emotions and learning tools to manage them. Some need support processing experiences that still feel overwhelming in their mind and body.
I use developmentally appropriate, evidence-based approaches to help children and teens feel safer, more regulated, and more confident over time. I also believe parents are an important part of the healing process, so part of my work includes helping caregivers better understand what their child is experiencing and how to respond in ways that support connection and healing.
Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT): Play is often how children express what they do not yet have words for. CCPT helps children process emotions and experiences in a way that feels natural, safe, and developmentally appropriate.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) :TF-CBT helps children and teens understand how trauma affects their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while building coping skills and processing difficult experiences in a supportive, structured way.
Brainspotting: Brainspotting is a trauma-focused approach that can help process experiences that feel stuck or hard to put into words. I may use Brainspotting when it feels like a good fit for the child or teen and when deeper trauma processing is appropriate.
DBT Skills: DBT skills can help children and teens who feel overwhelmed by big emotions learn how to identify what they are feeling, regulate their reactions, and cope more effectively.

When I'm not in the therapy room, you can find me relaxing with my two dogs, exploring Plano's parks, or enjoying time with my family. I bring this same authentic, calm energy into every session to make therapy a positive and engaging experience for your child.
Finding the right therapist for your child can feel overwhelming, especially when they have been through something hard and you are not sure what kind of support they need.
I want you to know you do not have to figure it all out on your own. If your child or teen is struggling with trauma, anxiety, grief, or overwhelming emotions, I offer a free 15-minute consultation as a simple first step. This is a chance for you to share what has been going on, ask questions, and get a better sense of whether working with me feels like the right fit for your family.
